Getting ready

Now you're ready to start at Santander, here's everything you need to know about your career with us, your pay and what to expect in the first few weeks.
First things first, you'll want to get paid. Your salary is paid monthly into a Santander bank account, so if you don't already bank with us you'll need to open an account straight away.
In preparation for your role, the Santander Employee Handbook provides essential information for working at Santander, including your working arrangements, benefits, what's expected from you and advice on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Being trusted to do the right thing is critical if we are to build a bank that is simple to deal with, has a personal understanding of its customers, and treats everyone fairly. So it's very important that you read our Code of Conduct that sets out what we should expect of each other.
Your health and wellbeing are important to us, so we'll ask you to complete mandatory health and safety training as part of your role in Santander. You'll also need to read and sign our Working Safely booklet, to confirm that you understand, and will comply with, Santander Health & Safety rules.
And, although you've just started with us, it's never too early to think about your retirement. Included in a wide-range of employee benefits, our pension plans offer generous company contributions, so they're worth taking advantage of as soon as you can.
Please feel free to get in touch with your Recruitment Contact should you have any questions prior to joining.
